Our House’s Adventures

Hello all. I am deeply sorry that I haven’t been posting lately. I have not been feeling well for weeks, and so this post and couple more will be your update on what has been happening in my life. I may not be majorly important in your life, but to some I mean the world to them. I also love them back just as much, and maybe even more if that’s possible. One of my best friends is one of the sweetest, kindest person you will ever meet. She makes life a much more enjoyable journey.

We both needed cheering up. I needed it because my (un-named at the time) illness had been killing my energy levels and throwing me for a nasty loop. She needed it because school had been getting overly stressful. So, we decided to do a little bit of shopping and then go out for dinner. The restaurant we went to was called “Our House.” It was such a cute little place with a bar, and all the tables were raised up high, which I love because it makes me feel tall.

I love taking pictures to document memories and events that I don’t want to forget about. So, I brought my polaroid camera with me, which didn’t surprise my friend at all because she knows of my love for polaroids.

It was fun to have my drink served in a mason jar. Not the normal glass you get when at a restaurant. What was also different about Our House is they had a whole menu just for mac n’ cheese. A whole separate menu!! It was awesome! Both my friend and I ordered from it, and neither of us regret that decision.

In addition to the yummy main courses, we also ordered a delicious appetizer of spinach & artichoke dip, which was beautiful displayed with the bread slices it came with. Now even though we couldn’t finish our meals in the restaurant, we still took the plunge into the dessert options. It’s funny how we were able to finish our dessert, but not our main courses. Who could blame us though?! Look at the picture I took! It’s four scoops of ice cream (2 coffee and 2 chocolate) with Oreo crumbs at the bottom, hardened chocolate covering parts of it, whipped cream, AND chocolate sauce drizzled all over it! There was no way we could let any of it go wasted.

Welcome! Welcome!

Hello,

My name is Alexandra, but I also go by the names of Alex or Panda. If you would like to know the story behind that nickname, don’t be afraid to ask in the comment section.

I am simple and complex at the same time. There are certain things that I know I want in my life, and then there are parts & times where I am utterly confused as to what I should do next or where should I go to improve my life. Movies are an all time favorite past-time of mine, and I truly enjoy the company of others, but in smaller numbers. Cute things scream out to me and will forever keep hold of a piece of my heart.

I have way too many objects that belong to me, but yet most of them I cannot part with because they encase a special memory or nostalgic feeling. Cooking could be a passion of mine, but I don’t do it often enough to make such claim. I thoroughly enjoy the sound of pouring rain and the smell it brings during and after the fall of that water. Speaking of water, I can only enjoy it plain if it’s cold, and I don’t like to swim in it unless I can see the bottom or my feet.

As soon as I was able to connect to the internet, I don’t think I’ve gone more than a month with some form of interaction on it. That being said I may not always be up-to-date on what’s happening in the world, let alone the town I’m living in. I have called the same household my home for the amount of time I’ve lived so far, but at the same time I have traveled and “lived” in multiple places that slowly earned the title of “home.” Many times I found myself saying the phrase “home home” to describe the place I grew up & where my parents still reside.

Since I’ve returned from my study abroad experience in Ireland, I have noticed that a part of me was left there, and I sort of think it was kept there on purpose so to encourage myself to return there again.

Now it is your turn to reflect:

Have you been somewhere where you left a part of yourself? Do you want to go back there? Why or why not?

What are some things about yourself that are odd? Do you love those things? How do you bring out the good in your day-to-day lives?
